Power spectra for laser-extinction measurements.
Recent laser technology provides accurate measures of the dynamics of fluids and embedded particles. For instance, the laser-extinction measurements (LEM) uses a laser beam passing across the fluid and measures the residual laser light intensity at the fluid output. The particle concentration is estimated from this measurement. However, the particle flow is submitted to random time-varying fluc...
متن کاملReconciling two-component power spectra
Power-law spectra have been used to interpret scintillation data for decades. Twocomponent power-law spectra were invoked to explain observed equatorial scintillation from VHF to S-Band. Carrano and Rino developed new strong-scatter theoretical results described in a companion IES 2015 paper. The new theoretical results have been used to estimate two-component power-law parameters from multi-fr...

The first results on an injection-locked high-power Nd:YAG ring laser with 195W single frequency output power in a stable linearly polarized fundamental mode operation for the next generation of gravitational wave detectors will be presented. ©2004 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (140.3520) Lasers, injection-locked; (140.3570) Lasers, single-mode Introduction For the fundamental research...
متن کاملNon-commutative Power-law Inflation: Mode Equation and Spectra Index
Following an elegant approach that merge the effects of the stringy spacetime uncertainty relation into primordial perturbations suggested by Brandenberger and Ho, we show the mode equation up to the first order of non-commutative parameter. A new approximation is provided to calculate the mode functions analytically in the non-commutative power-law inflation models. It turns out that non-commu...
متن کاملTechnique for measuring mode power of two-mode fiber
We propose a simple method for measuring the mode power of two-mode fiber based on the bending method. The mode power ratio is determined with better than 1 dB accuracy by undertaking three power measurements with different numbers of fiber bends. We also evaluate the estimation error of the proposed method and the required resolution of the measurement.
